For more than 25 years, the CDP has led the way in expanding opportunities for people to live, work and thrive on Lower Cape Cod. The BLAKELEY FOUNDATION has funded a series of workshops for entrepreneurs put on by CDP personnel with occasional support from SCORE.

The Family Pantry of Cape Cod began in 1989 with the mission of "providing food and clothing for ALL who need it". In 2020 they provided food and clothing to 10,302 individuals, of which 30% were children.

The Cape Cod Hunger Network (CCHN) is a growing coalition of organizations, including Cape food pantries and state and local agencies that help coordinate food security programs. The Hunger Network identifies needs on the Cape and then looks for ways to address that need through its membership. The Hunger Network also is an outlet through which advocacy efforts are channeled and works directly with the Greater Boston Food Bank in regard to legislative imperatives.

The CCHN also supports a few of the organizations which the Blakeley Foundation makes direct donations to.

Founded in 1995, Cape Cod Children’s Place is a non-profit organization dedicated to building resiliency and strength in Cape Cod families. Through their headquarters and several satellite offices they provide resources, referrals, high quality early childhood education, advocacy and support to sustain healthy communities for the future of Cape Cod and the Islands.

Focus groups led by parents and professionals support children’s learning and development from infant, pre-school and pre-k as well as family support and community engagement.

Since 1991, Champ Homes has grown to be a community of four residences near the Main Street of downtown Hyannis.

More than 2,700 people have enjoyed Champ Homes as their home and family. Participants are Cape Cod students, veterans, and individuals from all backgrounds that have fallen on hard times.

It is the ongoing mission of Champ Homes to provide transitional housing to adults on Cape Cod who are homeless or near homeless in a safe, compassionate, respectful environment, where we instill confidence and hope through providing life skills, mentoring, vocational opportunities, and self-advocacy.

Cape Cod’s leading resource, counseling, and advocacy center to address and prevent domestic and sexual violence, promoting safe and healthy relationships.

Independence House is the only comprehensive community-based organization on Cape Cod providing free and confidential specialized services and widespread programs for children (ages 5+), teens, adults and the later-in-life community who are survivors of, or impacted by domestic or sexual violence. All Independence House staff meet the statutory requirements of The Massachusetts General Laws (MGL Chapter 233, Sections 20J and 20K).

Cape Cod Veterans Outreach delivers service-enriched housing and all-inclusive supportive programs to veterans to ensure a lasting reintegration into the families and communities for which they have sacrificed. Your support provides veterans in need a place to call home, access to healthy food, and support from a counselor and case manager. Since 1983, the Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center is the only nonprofit veterans outreach center for the Cape and the Islands specializing in addressing Housing Assistance and Homelessness Prevention, Mental Health Support, and Food Insecurity.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands, a proud member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Massachusetts family, is the only one-to-one youth serving mentoring organization in the area. We’ve been around for over 45 years and serve more than 400 kids in the community.

The Food Project’s mission is to create a thoughtful and productive community of youth and adults from diverse backgrounds who work together to build a more just and sustainable food system. Their community empowers and equips youth leaders, grows and distributes fresh, healthy, affordable food in the city and the suburbs, and inspires and supports others to create change in their communities.

The Food Project engages across difference to build a stronger food system. They work with community residents and stakeholders to achieve more than improved food access. By combining sustainable agriculture, youth leadership development, and educational opportunities, The Food Project helps to remove obstacles for communities to thrive.

Haley House uses food with purpose and the power of community to break down barriers between people, empower individuals, and strengthen neighborhoods.
